I used to be some kind of super-mama. Prior to that I was a super-chick. I have always thrived on accomplishments; making a list and checking things off until I could tear off that piece of paper from the pad and wad it up and then toss it with a resounding “HA!”.
I was pretty good when Matt was born; starting slipping a bit after Preston. Oh, let’s be honest, a whole lot after Preston. And for the past 3-4 years, I’ve been coasting along. Obviously from August – November of last year I was in a different spot, what with the stupid cancer and surgeries and everything, but the other day I felt a little of that high from getting things done. Yesterday is got a little stronger – I cleaned out the cupboard under the kitchen sink that had gotten wet, oh, years months ago. I organized my kitchen counters and got started on a new spice rack. It’s all little stuff, but today, a nasty, rainy, chilly Sunday and I can’t get over getting things done. I don’t even want to sit on the couch and watch tv.
I’m not sure where I’ve been, but I’m back.
And it feels freaking …

Friday was my birthday…the big 3-6.
It was a really good day. Started with a whispered ‘happy birthday’ from Mike and ended with kisses from happy, silly boys. In the hours between, I got a manicure, a pedicure and a hot stone therapy massage. Did a little shopping on my own (got new shoes!) and then left the boys in capable hands and went to dinner at PF Changs with Mike and did some holiday shopping. It was soooo nice.
In honor of said birthday, I thought I would share some things about me, at 36.
