My first time out

So, yesterday, Matthew was having some issues with not smacking me in the face, so he got put in “time out”. Once the little timer went off (2 mins, 30 secs later), he proceeded to put ME in time out for leaving earlier in the day. The he bellowed for his dad and put HIM in time out, too! Mike and I were having a very difficult time not laughing right at him. The funniest part? When I put him in time out, I went and flopped down on the couch. When he put us in time out he did the same thing!!. 😀 Is he learning from these time outs? Not sure. But I do know that I have to stop talking so much, just give him the count and let it go. (at least that’s what 1-2-3 Magic says. I does make sense though).

Today was interesting so far. The boys woke up happy and so did I. We talked right away about going to a Warehouse Book Sale and then going to get flowers. Matt was super excited! Until we came downstairs. Then he wanted nothing to do with leaving the house for like 3 hours. I’m not even sure what finally got him out the door, but I was certainly thankful. We made it to the book sale and he was awesome! He walked and P was in the stroller – it was great. But then, we go to get in the car and he immediately crawls into the back of it. Says he wants to sit back there, yada yada yada. I explain 27 times that he can’t, that we can’t leave until he’s in his seat, etc. We literally went from him being totally gung-ho about going for flowers to wanting to go home. In that 10 minute period, I attempted counting, pleading and eventually, took his Jeep away for the day. I just don’t know what to do. Block the back of the van, I guess. How totally frustrating. Then, we get home and P is sleeping – he says he wants to play in the garage. Fine, I leave the car out so he can play. About 15 minutes later, P. wakes up, so I say we need to go inside and change diapers, I have to pee, and we need to let the dog out. He says OK, but refuses to get out of the car! ARGH. Finally, I take P. in the house, set him down and remove Matt from the car with an instant time out. He seems better, but then, really, not so much. Thankfully, he has decided to sit in the playroom for awhile. And I want to keep him home with me? I must be nuts. He obviously needs to learn some boundaries and he’s GOT to start listening or he’s going to spend every waking moment in the damn time out chair!!

Surely that cute little boy cant be that bad! You sound like your talking about Alexis here! lol…Once in school, things get better, then they get used to their classmates and learn the bad things… Like Alexis getting mad at everyone today and saying \"Fine then, your a cracker!\"… Maybe once they move out it gets better!
