Random stuff because I can’t seem to get it together enough to write a coherent post.

Preston was up 20 times last night and was fairly cranky all day. And then I realized, after a few, uh, productive sneezes, that he’s probably coming down with something. Ugh.
The boys have their T-Ball Opening Day Parade and then later, their first game, on Saturday. Weather forecast? 70% chance of thunderstorms. Ugh.
Today I cleaned out our spice cupboard, organized two other drawers and another kitchen cupboard.
I have a problem with instant gratification. The problem is that I neeeed it.
I’m ready to paint my entire house.
I think I have the paint color picked out for the kitchen. Just need to get it, get Mike to do moulding, and start painting.
I’ve also come up with a plan for disguising the blah that is the under of our deck – potted arborvitae! Need pots, dirt and plants!
Our veggies have been started inside and are almost ready to go outside – they are so tiny and cute!
Someone out there must have a trick to getting darker colored nail polish off fully. This colors-on-the-edges is very annoying.

I have to get birthday presents for 2 kid parties this weekend. Bakugan, Pokemon, Lego, Superheroes….blah blah blah.

There was a serious (matchbox) car crash and traffic jam in my house this morning….

…and shoulder and back….the site redo was both easier and harder than I thought. I was really over-thinking a lot of things, and when I finally just decided to get my feet wet with my current theme, it was not too bad.
Mike mentioned that I hadn’t moved from the chair with my laptop in like 4 hours yesterday evening. Meh, he was right! It was just one of those evenings where I didn’t want to do anything that involved cleaning or laundry or housework of any kind. I wanted to play with my blog. I wanted a new theme, but not really, and I had to “quick” teach myself how to play with CSS. By the end, I was bleary eyed and ready to be done.
And then I stayed up for another hour and a half reading in bed. I’m reading The Other Boleyn Girl.
I normally don’t read much from that time period (1520s in this case), but I am a sucker for royalty and such. And seeing the ads for the movie made from the book seemed pretty interesting. (I probably won’t enjoy the movie as much as the book; I never do!). Anyway, I am ...

Mike mentioned that I hadn’t moved from the chair with my laptop in like 4 hours yesterday evening. Meh, he was right!

Anyway, I am finding it interesting and liking it. It seems to be based on some fact of the time, though, honestly, I’m not real clear on my history from that time period in England. Either way, I’m astounded at the way children were raised then – sent away to a wet nurse soon after birth, seen by their parents rarely, married off starting at 12 or 13. Crazy! I’m only about a quarter of the way through it, but since it’s the book closest to me and it’s long, I thought I might jump on this meme while I’m at it!

First, the rules:

Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages)

Open the book to page 123

Find the 5th sentence

Post the next three sentences

Tag 5 people

My results:

{Suddenly, like a striking snake, she reached out and grabbed my hand in a fierce grip.} At once she twisted it behind my back and held me so that I could move neither forward nor backward but only cry out in pain: “Anne! Don’t! You’re really hurting!”

“Well, hear this,” she hissed in my ear. “Hear this, Mary.”…

Ooh, you’re on the edge of your seat, aren’t you?! hehe

Ok, and now that I’ve done it, I’m not quite sure what the point of it was…. ah well. And as far as rule #5? Anyone wanna do it? Leave me a comment if you do!
