One of my favorite pictures from Easter Sunday.

Last year we discovered a less crowded, more laid back place to visit Santa and decided to go again this year.  When we walked into the museum, we realized right away that they moved Santa to the front area (which, aside from basically advertising him being there, was a good thing – near bathrooms, more organized). We got into line right away, with promises to visit the Lego Castle display right after seeing the big man.

The boys were good waiting, although they hesitated walking up to him. Matt actually said “I wrote him a letter, I don’t need to tell him”. HUH?

Anyway, we got our pictures, the boys warmed up a little, and then we headed to the Legos.  To be honest, I was disappointed.  When they were hyping a Lego Castle Adventure, I was imagining a LIFE SIZE Lego castle that we could walk through. Don’t get me wrong – they had awesome Lego castles – but I was expecting MORE. BIGGER.  And according to other people around, I wasn’t the only one.  The boys liked it, though, and our museum tradition continues.

While we were putting Matt’s letter to Santa, the letter on top caught my eye and made me laugh.

It says: Dear Santa, I love you very much and please don’t put me on the naughty list. My heart is humongous. I hope you have a good day.

Yes, I shall join the masses and write about Mother’s Day today. I mean, that is what it is, so there ya go.

• I got to sleep in.  Probably would have dozed in and out awhile longer, but the dog started licking my head so I had to get up to let her out.
• I got to relax on the couch while breakfast was being made for me (ham & cheese omelet and hash browns)
• I went and picked out my porch flowers and some dirt – just me and the dog and no time limit
• Dog and I spent the afternoon working in the dirt and sun. Well, I worked, she bugged me to throw the ball 9,640 times in a row.

• When my boys came home from visiting their grandma, I got MORE flowers – for the deck  – and awesome cards.
• I got to take a really long (and much-needed) quiet, hot, long shower
• My man is making me my favorite dinner; my boys are entertaining themselves and I am under a blanket with my laptop on the comfy chair.
• The tv? NOT ON. 
• Matt gave me something they made in school – a handprint with a little poem about fingerprints and getting bigger and it took me like 10 minutes to get the tears out of my eyes.

Sometimes, life is just GOOD, you know? Tomorrow I will grudgingly welcome back the responsibilities, the things to do, the worries of everyday life, but today, I’m just loving being a mama.

Oh, and the boys were helping water the grass and plants…they went ahead and watered the dog, too.

Almost done shopping. I am so far behind. A few years ago, before having 2 kids, I would have been done and completely ready for the holidays in November. Now, the organization, time management and holiday skills have been sucked from my brain by those two short people that share the house with us.

Tomorrow is my staff holiday dinner. I’m hoping to have time to make their presents tomorrow after I finish up the shopping. it’s not looking good for me.
