I keep wanting to write one of those “if something happens to me” letters to my husband and kids. Well, want to is the wrong way to say it…need to maybe.
But I can’t.
I know I’ll be fine, but in the back of my mind I want to be prepared.
Then today, while we were driving home from appointments, I realized that Mike is exactly the guy I want raising my kids, teaching them the important things in life, traveling to places we all dream about. He’s the guy and if, god forbid, something happens, I have absolute faith that he knows what to do. And I told him so.
No letter necessary. (Thank god, because seriously, I couldn’t stop sobbing each time I tried!)

The outpouring of support for me lately has been amazing. Unbelievable, really. People from all of the US, Canada and other countries are sending love and prayers and good thoughts. At least three churches have me on their prayer lists. It’s crazy and oh so nice.

My friend Sunshine wrote a beautiful blog post today for/about me. Dammit if she didn’t make me cry!

My surgery tomorrow is at noon and is supposed to last 3-4 hours. Looks …
If something happens
Things I did while I was here and you were there
I’m trying to get all of my ducks in a row before my surgery next week. Mostly because I’m currently going in blind and have no clue how long I’ll be in the hospital or in recovery mode. I’ve got the Easter things for the boys, caught up on the office supply needs, have a spiffy new laptop table, am almost caught up with laundry and am about as prepped and ready as I can be.
I’ve also
Started a twitter friends fitbit group called Twitterbits. So, if you use a fitbit and are a twitter friend, come join us! Mike asked me today why, since I won’t be walking for at least a couple of weeks! hehe, oops.
Downloaded movies and tv shows and book samples galore to my iPad and Kindle. Read anything good lately?? Share with me in the comments! I think I’ll catch up on my entire year book goal while I’m mending.
Had a lovely lunch with Mike and Preston yesterday while Matt was at a birthday party. Those two are so hilarious and cute together…I adore them and am so lucky.
Spent a little time with my Godmother yesterday who brought me a prayer quilt that her …

8 more days
My oncologist was lovely enough to call in a couple of prescriptions for some pain relief. In honor of there now (well as of tomorrow) being 8 more days until surgery, I give you:
Up too late
As you can see, I decided to screw around with my blog again.
I’m up much too late.
But, it feels good. Normal. Like me before all the worries and stresses of late.
It’s been awhile since I’ve heard Mike snoring from downstairs and the boys quiet and the house dark. It’s nice.
Alas, I must go to bed…I do have to get up in the morning.
Before you go – check out the social icons over there –>>(um, on the main page only it looks like…hmmm) I made a few custom ones for Maddie, VU and my Melanoma site. Cool, huh?
