Forging on

I’ve been feeling pretty good the last couple of days. Yes, you read that right! I know I’m always poor me, this hurts, that happened, ouch, wah, blah blah blah, but I’ve been off the Z for a week and it’s easing the side effects quite nicely. Of course, I still have some issues (joint pain, yo!) and everything is not perfect, but I feel….wait for it….almost, kind of… normal. Ish.

I have totally had ‘cancer/chemo’ brain for quite awhile now and I almost feel like the fog is clearing. Not 100% – not even close, but there have been peeks through the fog this week!

In other news, I really hate politics. It makes people say the craziest things, not think and in general, act like flipping idiots.  And don’t get me started on the candidates! hehe.

I could fix it all if someone would give me the chance. Anyone could, really.  It’s beyond simple, and I think we all learned it as kids. In fact, maybe we should just ask the kids of America how to run the country – I bet they could do it with minimal bickering and a lot more fun.

Here it is…ready?

Common Sense, Kindness, Laughter, Compassion, Communication, and Sensitivity.

My most outrageous platform idea is this: treat people how you want to be treated or want your family treated.

Arguments: settled with Rock-Paper-Scissors or a game of HORSE.

Health care? How DO you need to be taken care of? What about your kids or your parents? Let’s base a plan on THAT.

Abortion? If you’re a man, it’s none of your business. Women? It should be your choice. Bottom line. If you’re my friend or family or hell, a stranger who needs a friend, I will fight for your right for that – hold your hand and tuck you in if you have to have one (because no one wants one); help you deal with alternatives if you don’t. Either way? Your choice – I got your back.

Military spending? Do we have what we need? Let’s be logical – will more carriers or submarines or troops make any difference at all if someone drops a nuclear bomb? Can we just play nice with people? Can we do more good things with our military in peace time than forcing ourselves on other countries? I assume there are many smarter people than I in things of that nature – let’s let them discuss it – no politics, just military. Think it through. And let’s make sure we’re taking care of our troops once they’re back home.

Medicare/Medicaid/Etc: this goes back to healthcare – we have to take care of our people. Elderly, disabled, those who NEED help.  Everyone is part of the “47%” at some point – you help people when they’re down so they can help others.

Taxes: rich people need to pay more. Poor people pay less.

National Debt: tell China to bug off and start over.  If they don’t like it, why don’t we bring all of those jobs that were sent there back here. Done.

So there you go. I have a lot of other ideas to deal with other issues, but that’s the basic idea.

Tomorrow Mike is going to a fundraiser golf outing, so the boys are I are doing some halloween crafting. Some more duct-tape pumpkins and a couple of spooky wreaths.  I’m still trying to finish something for the Coke Rewards at school, so I want to get that done, too.

Sunday, we’re doing Lego Fest – I am so excited to see the giant pile of bricks and play with Legos!! It’s no secret I love them as much as the boys. I’m expecting to get  a lot of ideas for them for the holidays though!

Be kind to one another – we’re all human. Let’s not forget. We all forge on….

I agree with you on basically every political point you listed. Want to run for president? I’d vote for you. 🙂

So glad you’re feeling better. Normal-ish is good. XOXO
