The Big 4-0

To my husband on the occasion of his 40th birthday:

Happy birthday. Man, am I glad you were born and came into my life. Can you believe we’ve known each other for over half our lives now? Seems impossible. We were so young when we met and fell in love!

As you know, I’ve never been much about ages, so you turning 40 doesn’t really mean a whole lot except that I get to tease you about being old (you’ll always be older than me, you old fool!). You’re still pretty spry for an old dude, and I love you more as the years pass.

I’m excited to go out tonight for your birthday dinner with some of our good friends. It’s been kind of a roller coaster for the past few months, and you deserve a night out of fun, drinking, talking and laughing.

You’re an amazing husband, my best friend and a superb father. I love you. Happy birthday.
