So, last Monday night, the boys had a playdate (feels weird to call a 7 yo playing a playdate, but whatever). They went to a friends house and did all sorts of fun stuff, had dinner, played Legos…all around good time. While there, Preston, my little Prince of Clutziness, fell off a dining room chair. Just fell off.
And hurt his wrist.
No, not that one, his other one.
He complained it hurt when we got home, but I knew it wasn’t broken (you know, having been there before), so we gave him some tylenol and called it a night. When he woke in the morning, he complained it still hurt really bad, so a call was made and a doctor visit scheduled.
A brief visit with the doctor and we were sent for an x-ray. Luckily, he was feeling better and better as the morning went on. By the time I got the phone call from the doctor late in the afternoon, he was outside riding his bike and playing demolition derby with his brother.
Mike had taken the day off since our washer was supposed to be fixed that same morning…sadly, it needs a part that had to be ordered. We have been washer-less for 8 days now. It’s hell. I went to the laundromat (2.5 hrs, $25 later) and washed what I could. It’s already piled high again and no word from the washer fix-it dude.
This weekend, starting with Friday evening, I have been in bed. Sick as a dog [where does that come from, anyway? My dog has never looked or sounded as bad as I do!] It started with a sore throat, turned into a lovely congestion, and turned right into a horrible cough, aches and pains and general death warmed over feelings. Luckily, Mike is awesome and hung with the boys and quarantined me to the bedroom. I’m hoping one more night of NyQuil and sleep will kick this enough so I can get my brains back and to work tomorrow. (I’m always so goofy when I’m on cold meds – I can’t even play WWF!) silver lining: my abs should be awesome after all of this!

Preston just came up to me and asked me to put a song on his ipod – “down down sugar main” – 10 points to whoever figures out what the heck that is!!
