I was feeling spunky this evening after dinner. I had already mowed (mown??) the lawn, but I wanted to do something more exercise-y. I decided I would go for a walk. The weather was perfect this evening, the boys were busy, Mike was home, so I laced up my shoes!
Before I went though, I tried to quickly find an app for my iphone to track how far, how long, etc. I flipped through a couple and landed on a free version of one that seemed pretty cool. And it was.
Until….
I hit 3,000 steps.
Now, it’s not really the app’s fault – it says in the description (that I was in too much of a hurry to read) that the free version is good for 3,000 steps.
I missed that.
So, midway through my lovely walk (during which I was feeling very comfortable and keeping up a great pace!) I grabbed my iphone from my pocket to change a song and there, on the screen, was a little notification (silent bugger) that said “Too bad for you! You’ll never know how far you walked or how fast because this was the FREE version! Bwahahaha!!”
Ok, that’s probably not an exact quote…
So I’m off to find a new app that let’s me walk more than 3,000 steps (which add up way faster than you think, by the way).
It’s as if the universe doesn’t want me to exercise!!

Now I’m curious to see if there’s an app for that on my droid. I think the hubby would be pleased if I could find something more useful than the music trivia games, and vampire war games that I keep downloading. Oh but hey, I did load a flashlight for it, and THAT’s useful. Well, it IS! 😛
Yeah yeah OK…I really should be out there walking right along with you. Maybe we can download apps that will count steps and then sync to the web and keep track of each other’s progress. But sheesh, that sounds like an awful lot of work. 😆
I hate those limited free apps! I’d much rather deal with the ads on a free app that actually works.
