On Mother’s Day

My day started with two little boys running into my room to wish me a happy Mother’s Day and then sprinting back out.  I lazed around in bed until Mike came in to let me know breakfast was ready.  A hearty feast of biscuits and gravy, hash browns, sausage and oj and then I flopped on the couch.

While I was giving Preston a hug I asked what we should have for dinner and his response? “How about Love?” {swoon}

The boys all went to Meijer to get makings for dinner tonight (steak or enchiladas – it was hard to decide after big breakfast! I can never effectively think about food while I am stuffed).  I took a quick shower and then flopped myself back on the couch.  The boys returned with groceries AND flowers for me (so pretty!) and now, I am once again flopped on the couch, laptop on my lap and Superman on tv while the boys are playing outside.

So far, this could be one of the best days ever. 🙂

Update 1: Neighbor is insisting on buying me a drink in honor of Mother’s Day….

Update 2: drink consumed, flopped back on couch, and I was watching Glee, but now I have children whining in here wanting to watch something else. Wah wah wah.

Update 3: Shh….boys ate some food, stopped whining, watched some Phineas & Ferb and now I’m watching Glee again. Up next: dinner!

Update 4: Boys came in, became bratty and annoying and freaking out, so I put myself in timeout in the bedroom (complete with door slamming) until they came up with apologies and hugs. 🙂

Update 5: Mmmmmm….steak and baked potato for dinner, dump cake in the oven, flopped back on the couch…. 4 hours and counting until MY day is done.

Update 6: My amazing husband is putting the boys to bed (and their laundry away, FTW) before collapsing into bed himself. I am watching last week’s Mentalist…still flopped on the couch!!

Update 7: Caught up on Glee, enjoyed some vanilla ice cream and dump cake, now off to bed, for real life resumes in the morning!
