Slouchy posted the challenge of writing a story in 100 words…at first I thought it would be fairly simple. After I wrote my first draft and came in at 153 words, I realized it was more challenging than first assumed.
Here’s mine…a story in exactly 100 words. Wanna give it a try? Leave your link in the comments or if you’d rather, leave your 100 word story in the comments! Good luck!
“I’m just tired,” he whined, as I put on his coat and shoes.
“It’s only for a little while, honey, please?” I sighed. I couldn’t believe I was pleading with my four year old to go play for a few hours with his friends. Last week he was begging to go.
Suddenly I stopped. “If I let you stay home today, will you go all day tomorrow?”
He perked up immediately and grinned.
“Deal?” I asked.
“Deal!” he shouted.
Sometimes it’s just easier to break the rules, I thought as I sipped my coffee and he munched happily on Timbits.
