For a friend

November 18, 2009 · 2 comments

Although I’ve never been to a blogging or social media conference

and although I’ve never met any of my online friends in person (and I still call them ‘friends I know online’ when talking to people IRL)

or done more than chat over IM or email (not even Skype!)

I feel like I know so many of these people; I consider them friends. I feel like if I met any one of them, they would embrace the me they know from this crazy online world.  I know that is hard for some people to understand, but I have found a sense of community…people I can bare my soul to without consequence, who treat me with respect, who are there if and when I need them.  It’s strange, and certainly nothing my parents would really understand, but when one of them is hurting, it is as real as if that person is sitting next to me instead of on the other side of a computer screen a thousand (or more) miles away.

One of those friends, who I am just getting to know, suffered a stroke (her second) yesterday and is in ICU.  Her husband is by her side; her three young children visited today.  She is fighting and there are SO many people praying for her, but if you have a moment to just throw something out there to God or the Universe or whoever you believe in, I know she would appreciate it. She’s young and vibrant and hilarious, and she just celebrated her daughter’s cancer scans coming back clean.  She deserves to be celebrating and laughing and making lewd comments and jokes, not fighting for her life in the ICU.  So please, if you are so inclined, say a prayer, send some mojo, visualize her healing…

And then go here and here to learn about my friend. And be sure to go here and see how many people love this woman and why you should, too, because you can never have too many people on your side, you know?

Come on Anissa…you can do this…we have Twilight and Glee to talk about!

Here’s how YOU can help: Breathe in love (if you have children, the love you experienced at their birth, best ever!) focus on your heart center, radiate the love from the heart to Anissa and family. Imagine all those who are doing this, and join up with them in sending heartsong. Love is the most healing thing there is. Remember,
God is Love.
