You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have…

(I’ve apparently been writing this post for 3 days now, so the days are all messed up. I fixed it last night, but then never published, so you’ll have to pretend it’s a day ago. or something.)

ok, so not so much with the Facts of Life, but it somehow got in my head and sharing it is the best way to get rid of it, right? 😉

I am getting ready for this surgery slowly but surely.  The other day, I cleaned my craft room/office.  And then I got a bunch of work done.  And then I thought to myself “why the hell did you clean *this* room when it’ll be weeks before you can get to it!?” It’s so pretty and mind calming when it’s clean though, so that’s nice.

Yesterday, I cleaned the kitchen and worked a little on the laundry (not that you would know it today), and then I got distracted by the season premiere of House.   It was a very interesting episode; emotionally rollercoaster-ish actually.  I’m looking forward to seeing Dr. House back at Princeton Plainsboro. Honestly, don’t care much if he changed or learned all about himself…I rather liked the ego-maniacal nutcase he always has been.

Between the kitchen cleaning and House, though, my buddy Sunshine brought me over a little post-surgery pamper package…lovely stuff from Sephora so that while I’m laid up I can give myself a manicure. Plus I got the prettiest color polish! I took it with me when I got my toes done today and then I can match my finger nails next week. She is so absolutely thoughtful and supportive; everyone should have a Sunshine in their life.

I had scheduled myself a massage and a pedicure for today.  A little pampering before surgery.  I was hoping the whole day would be relaxing, but I should know better. Matt ended up staying home sick from school, I almost didn’t have a sitter, and I was totally late for my massage.  I had (oops, have) packages to mail, and I STILL had to go get my sexay compression stocking for post-surgery.

[I went to get it on  Tuesday but it was the wrong thing (I found out after waiting 20 minutes in that ridiculously boring medical supply office where they play a video about themselves over and over).  The person who ordered wrote the wrong item number down and they had pantyhose for me instead of a stocking! Uh, NO.  So, they said they would order it right away, blah blah blah, and that I should get a call on Wednesday.  Honestly, I never gave it a thought the other day.  Yesterday I did…When I called they started by telling me it wouldn’t be in until Monday. Um, NO. So after managerial interference, they assured me it would arrive today, and it did. ]

Matt is suffering with a horribly croupy cough.  He gets it every year after school starts, poor kid. He sounds like a seal…wonder if he can catch a ball on his nose….

Today we have soccer pictures and then a soccer game.  It’s chilly and rainy right now and I am praying to the weather gods that even if it has to be chilly and cloudy, that it just doesn’t rain.

Tomorrow we are taking the boys bowling and I’ll attempt to get all of the laundry washed, dried AND even put away (GASP)!

Monday, I have to call for my surgery time for Tuesday, then we’re taking the boys to school and playing 18, hopefully finishing in time to be on time to pick up my dad from the airport (he’s been in Ireland for the past week and a half).  Monday night will see me cleaning for the last time for awhile, showering with Dial Soap (holy dry batman), and taking the dog to Mike’s parent’s house.

Between now and then, I have shower prizes and presents to wrap and box up and send, and assorted other little life tasks.

If you’re still reading this absurdly useless and boring post, thanks. And if you left early, you won’t see this sentence anyway, so insert me sticking my tongue out at you here. 😀

I’m reading backwards so I see the kids are sick. 🙁

I hope you get as much out of this weekend as you need – maybe it is just a little more snuggle time. 🙂
