I just realized, that with current plans plus the schedule of my surgery and pre-op and having absolutely no clue how my recovery is going to go from 2 incisions, that we’ve basically run out of summer.
And that blows. And alternately, sucks.
We have a lot of things yet to accomplish this summer. Water park, zoo, sleep over at Grambo’s (no, my kids have never slept away from home without us), getting Preston in underwear full-time, mini-golf, more golf for me & Mike, but most of all, my big plan (after the DC trip) was a weekend away to the west side of the state to take the boys to Lake Michigan. A beach. A real sandy, wavey-watered beach. Sand castles and floating in waves. Sand everywhere, sun bouncing off a mass of water, exhausted kids, sticky with ice cream.
This weekend, full. Next weekend is our ONLY weekend left before the boys’ birthday party and then surgery. Then it’s Labor Day and back to school.
How can summer be over when it just started yesterday?!
Wife. Mom. Cancer Fighter. Friend. Business Owner. I believe life is short, some things just are what they are, and that there are very few problems that laughter won't solve or at least make better.

and then all of a sudden, not only summer is gone but EIGHTEEN of those summers are gone and your kid is an adult and you are all ‘where did the days go?’ and you just wanna rewind so you can go on that summer holiday that never happened.

SERIOUSLY!! ever since we were kids ourselves summer never seems long enough. And get this: Our house went on the market Tuesday, by yesterday we have an offer. Hmmm looks like my summer is gone too. Gotta move in with my mom, enroll kids in whole new school district, etc, etc. Sometimes being a grownup totally blows….
No doubt! Where does the time go??!! I can’t believe it’s almost over…sigh, the older I get, the quicker the time seems to go!
