Signed Daisy up for training class…took her to pet store today just to prove that YES, she needs training!
Go ahead and judge me….but then help me
Ok, seriously, I kind of suck at this parenting gig sometimes.
Our first issue is the juice. No, my boys aren’t on steroids, they have a major issue with juice…as in they can’t go without it. Now, the first thing you need to know is that we mix 2/3 water with 1/3 juice. The second thing you need to know is this: I totally realize this problem is my fault. We basically swapped sippy cups for bottles years ago and now the boys need their juice all night long. And they don’t just take a drink and set it down; they guzzle. They down the whole cup and ask for more. Apparently I gave birth to camels (minus the whole going days between drinks thing).
ANYWAY, I’m pretty damn sick of getting up through the night to give juice and change diapers. Preston is 3, Matt is 5. Preston is WAY worse about the juice, but both of them are bad at night. During the day I can get them to drink water or go longer between refills, so that is getting better. But the night!
My first thought was to tell them no more. Cold turkey, just stop. One cup when they …
President Obama
I don’t care if you love him or hate him, you HAVE to be impressed by the way he inspires people; by the sheer number of people that came out to see him get sworn in. The number of people who are out partying the night away in celebration of our new president.
Matt got to watch some of it in school today, which I’m happy about. He also colored a lovely picture of our new prez. (I’ll get it scanned tomorrow).
I’m happy with our (see, I said our – you know, as a country, as a group) choice. I think that he will do a fantastic job – seriously, he already has. He has a lot of work ahead of him, but he KNOWS it, and that makes all the difference in the world.
Congrats, Obama family. It’s quite an adventure you’re going on now!
Messing around
AGAIN.
Excuse the dust, loud hammering (er..smacking of computer), and even louder swearing as I mess around with my blog again.
No, I just can’t leave well-enough alone.
27 hours
I’m so awesome, my 24 hour flu lasts for 27 hours.
Yesterday I felt a little icky at about 5am; figuring it was overeating the night before, I went back to sleep and ignored it. When I got up and got ready to go get my hair cut, I was still feeling a little nauseous, but figured it was lack of food or whatever. I downed some Canada Dry and headed out. Not my best decision of the day.
Half way through my haircut, I had to take a break and put my head between my legs…moments later I had to sprint for the bathroom. That has never happened to me before.
I made it home, changed my clothes and flopped into bed. I slept instantly and woke hours later. The flu that hit Mike last weekend apparently caught up with me finally.
Luckily, it was a low grade annoyance more than anything, but still, I hate being stuck in bed all day when it’s not for fun!
I haven’t been able to spend the day in bed in years – just watching tv, reading books, whatever. Yesterday did not change that.
Feeling better today…still not 100%, but not trapped to the bed. Now …
