Except…

Tonight I made a blanket with sleeves (like this or this ).  Matt saw the infomercial for the Snuggie and insisted on me making him one right then. After I informed him that I would need to get the fleece and find the directions, he cut me a little slack and told me I could make one today instead of last night. (Generous, ain’t he?)

But, thinking it seemed easy and given my love of all things cozy, I decided I could totally do it. I mean how adorable, him all snuggled up and cozy but still having arms out, so no complaining about his arms being cold while we cuddle!?

So I made the trip to Joann today (they were having an AWESOME sale on fleece), and tonight, after dinner, I sat down to do it.  Unfortunately, I screwed it up a little, but that didn’t bother him. For it was a blanket! With SLEEVES!

Except…it’s a single layer (not double like all of their fleece blankets)

Except…he wants to be able to walk around in it without it falling off

Except…he wants velcro in the back so it can cover him all the way and stay on while he’s playing (and does anyone want to guess exactly HOW it is that he’s going to latch the velcro by himself?)

And no, it wouldn’t work if he turned it around and wrapped himself up in it (!!)

And no, it’s NOT supposed to just be for lying around…if I watched the infomercial on the Snuggie, I would plainly see that indeed, they do walk around with the damn blanket still on.

I made Preston a quick little scarf – fleece Hot Wheels (his favorite!) print.  When I wrapped it around him to show him how warm and snuggly it is, he asked WHY I made it.

I know they are 5 & 3, but is it REALLY so much to ask for an unprompted  WOW! THANKS MOM!!!

And to top it off?  They both are all about daddy these last few days.  ALL. I’m not allowed to get juice or read or even turn on freaking light switches because daddy needs to do it. I’ve had to beg and plead just to read a single book to them.

While that would seem like it would totally be awesome – like a well-deserved, much needed break? It just annoys daddy after awhile and makes mommy feel like she’s chopped liver.

Meh.  I’m going to bed.

I am severly craft impaired. I look at your site, and I long for crafty talent. I should have taken Home Ec. when I was a kid. Maybe making that stuffed pillow in class would have opened a whole new world for me.

I totally saw the Snuggie commercial the other night and asked Jason to get me one! LOL…He didnt!
Alexis has become a Daddy’s girl the last month as well… Wants Daddy for everything, screw me! I felt left out at first, then realized, it could be good because I get a break! although it does make you feel bad when you sit and think about it..
