Spent some time after the fam left working on this:

Days Until Christmas

I used a tutorial found here, but modified it slightly.  Instead of stamping the title and numbers, I used my Cricut to cut them out and then stuck them on.

If you wanted to make one of your own, you could use stickers for the numbers and letters, which would save some serious time.  Also, you could use a cookie sheet instead of a canvas and use magnets instead of velcro.

I probably worked on it for 1-2 hours with interruptions from small boys. Like I said, could totally be done faster.  We had the little cardboard chocolate advent calendar last year, but I wanted one a little more solid and something I could put my own little treats in.
