Damned if I’m not stuck on this vampire thing.
First those Twilight Books (and I still maintain I will NOT like the movie since not a one of the characters lives up to my imagination of what they look like or how they sound).
And now Sookie Stackhouse. HBO has made a series of the Sookie Stackhouse Novels by Charlaine Harris called TrueBlood. While the novels are fairly graphic and descriptive, the show takes it to a whole new level. I watched one episode and then picked up the books (I’m on the 5th one) and have enjoyed them a lot. The show? Well, there’s a lot of sex. I mean, seriously, it’s pretty much soft porn (um..not that I’ve ever seen porn, I mean….OW! My eyes, my eyes!!!!)
Anna Paquin plays Sookie, the telepath. I like her southern character and accent; it’s wierd to see her in a role like this, but it works. But the rest of the cast? Well, they took some liberties. As they always do when the take a book to the screen, but this is why I have issues. I mean, if the book is so good that someone wants to make a movie or …

True Love
Thursday Thirteen
Thirteen things I’ve done in the past week (or so)
Got my office using Instant Messaging so they can reach me without calling or faxing me. (More convenient and much more fun!!)
Started working on Christmas presents
Organized the art/craft/game closet
Laughed my ass off (figuratively, not literally, though a girl can dream) playing golf with the neighbors. Don’t even remember what it was now, but recall the lovely feeling of laughing so hard I could barely breathe. Love that feeling.
Was a parent chaperone for a field trip for the first time.
Yelled too much. (But apologized just as much).
Attempted to plan a trip to Florida for January…almost planned. Now, to find the money.
Didn’t finish all of the laundry, dishes or housecleaning.
Read the second book that the TrueBlood HBO series is based on.
Put up some Halloween decorations
Read somewhere between 28-40 books to my kids.
Rediscovered my love of Halloween sized candy
Found 2 of 3 desktops in my craft room/office.
For all that doing nothing yesterday, turns out I actually did get something done this week.

By the way, thanks my comment luvs. Yesterday turned out fine. Preston and I did a whole lot of nothing and then later, the sun came out and we went to …
cloudy
I can’t seem to get it together today.
I am very sleepy. And completely unmotivated.
There about 432 things I could should be doing…from dishes to laundry, from cleaning and organizing to crafting. I have big ideas about making some Christmas presents this year and time is flying by. And yet I can’t seem to remove my butt from this couch except to feed, change and play with Preston. Or let the dog out.
It’s a rainy, cloudy, crummy day outside, which probably has something to do with all of it, but still. It’s not really in my nature to sit around.
And yet here I am.
What do you do when you have stuff to do and no motivation? Any secret pick-me-ups or tricks to get moving?
Fondue & Orchard lovin
I took my staff out to dinner last night to (a) celebrate our doctor’s return and (b) have a staff meeting. [FYI: I am a freaking awesome boss]
We went to the Melting Pot. If you’ve never been and there’s one near you, do yourself a favor and try it! It was not only super yummy, but it was a truly unique and fun experience.
Since we were Melting Pot virgins, we were a bit overwhelmed at how the while thing worked; luckily we had a fabulously funny, witty and smart waitress who explained it all to us.
Basically, you get to choose your cheese for the cheese course (they provide 3 kinds of bread, veggies and apples), then you pick your salad, then you choose your meats/seafood and method of cooking (oil or broth), and then you choose your chocolate. It’s a ton of food and ever so yummy!!!!!
The meeting part went pretty well, too. I mean as far as staff meetings go with my staff. I’m trying a new program with them to try to get them to work more as a team and less as a “she never does this and that and she won’t do that and …
