First off, courtesy of @slouchy… silly stuff to read:  56 worst/best analogies

Second, the little @ sign there is a twitter thing…if you twitter, you know.  If you don’t, well, you should.  Is there anything more liberating than expressing yourself in 140 characters or less a hundred times a day?

Third, here is my blog redesign…like it? Hate it?  Boring?  Needs some awesome plugin/widget? Let me know.  I figure by the time I get this one e x a c t l y how I want it, I’ll get bored and want to change it again.  Also thinking about moving family room furniture into fall/winter positions…

Fourth:  I am really enjoying my time with Preston during the day. Un(?)fortunately, I’m not getting nearly as much done as I thought I would.  Instead, I’m spending time with him.  Swinging. Playing outside. Talking.  All wonderful things that I now feel like I missed out with my 3-year-old Matt.  So the dishes aren’t done any more/faster than before Matt started school (maybe slower since I am now P’s playmate). The laundry, for all my I’m totally going to get caught up on laundry and then do a load or 2 a day to stay caught up excitement isn’t working out much better.  But today we relaxed a bit, went to Meijer, played a bit, washed my car and picked up Matt. And we made cookies.  And we swang.  And we played with Daisy.  I did eventually get the dishes done, but that was a last minute effort while he was on the deck.

And all day, I was thinking about being present and with him and not worrying about other things.  And I’m pretty impressed I was so successful.

Now, if someone could talk me through the evening crankies that both boys get sucked in to, I’d be golden!

Matt seems to be settling into the school schedule fairly well.  A bit tired at night (but he still fights going to bed), but happy.  Today was picture day (already!) and I hope he smiled for real.  His first fundraiser is due on Friday (anyone want to buy some overpriced cookie dough or popcorn?!).  When I look through his folder each day, I see his work, and sometimes, honestly, I laugh.  For instance, today’s work had them counting sides of shapes and coloring them.  For the question: A rectangle has _____ sides my son drew a picture of a rectangle. hehe.

———

Things are looking up-ish at the office.  Our fill-ins have been great, but we’re all ready for regular life to resume as quickly as possible.  Maybe in another week…fingers crossed!  [I really want to spill the whole story here, but that would be the time that I learn that someone I don’t know about reads this blog!!]

———

I’ve got some serious projects planned for Christmas this year and am hoping to get started on them very soon.  I’m even going back to making my own cards this year instead of doing the ever-popular photo card.  (Although it will have a photo!)

——–

Just saw a commercial for Vaseline Lotion. No big deal, right? Except this stuff was FOR MEN.  In a nice dark bottle with masculine print!! LOL.  Seriously guys, you can’t just use one of the ninety lotions in the bathroom? You need MEN’s LOTION?  (Not that I even know many guys who use lotion on a regular basis!!)

——-

Weather has been perfect around here this week – 70s, sunny and cold at night. Loving it.  And supposed to be more of the same through the weekend.  And us? No babysitter to finally go golf.

This design seems a little sad, D. Do I need to take you to vegas and cheer you up? 😉

Men just feel better using something in a manly container. It’s sad, really, but great for the marketing people around the world who’ve figured this out.

I like the other design also. I thought that chic you had on there was pretty cool. Great to hear you are getting a lot of one on one time with Preston. The dishes will be there, these memories will go by fast, capture them when you can!

Stewart is a lotion whore. Every time we go to the States he stocks up on Bath and Bodyworks products and spends WAY MORE then I do.

There’s nothing better than being present with your kids. It sounds lovely.

I like the new design! I was confused at first when I clicked over here, it took me a minute to figure out where I was. But I like it!

Havent I told you to just bring the boys to me? Gosh, dont you listen?! 😉
Sounds like your having fun with Preston! When you do decide to bring the boys to me, I would LOVE it if you would wash MY car too! It sure does need it, not to mention a vacuuming also! 🙂

I like the little birdie! That’s great that your spending time just playing. You both need that!
That men’s lotion is kindof weird, but my husband is a lotion freak,so he’d be all over it!

Looks good lady! That men’s lotion thing cracks me up too, but really it is about time the marketing people figured it out. But really, we too have about a million bottles of lotion laying around, most of it not too femmy smelling. Think I’ve seen hubby use it once or twice in the 14 years we’ve been together though!
