Off to school!

September 3, 2008 · 7 comments

Matt started Kindergarten this morning.

My baby, off to school from 8:48 am to 4:07 pm, FIVE days a week.

All day, every day.

Oddly, I didn’t cry. (Preston did, though) Even more oddly, I almost cried when we picked him up.  It was almost as if I was holding my breath all day, just waiting to hear that he was ok, that he had a good day.

He did.  He had fun.  He likes his teacher.  He had lunch in the cafeteria!

I swear he grew since we dropped him off this morning.  And that made me tear up.

Kindergarten.  Seriously? Where did 5 years go?

I pick Briar up in an hour. Can’t wait. I was so mystified that they made us leave so soon. Like they were going to let me stay and watch? Silly, mama.

I’d love to tell you that it gets easier every year, but I’m a horrible liar.

He is quite cute though, what a mini-grown-up already!

So cute!

And I’m a little bit jealous you have all day kindergarten. Ours ends at 11 am everyday. Just enough time for me to get on a roll accomplishing something, and I have to stop and go pick him up.
