Thirteen years ago today, my love and I met at the front of my childhood church and vowed to be together until death do us part. Of course, that was simply a formality, since we had pledged our love to each other for a least a million years within a few months of meeting.
In true love comes along when you least expect it form, I fell for the wonder that is Mike (hehe) mere weeks before I was due to go across the state for college. I was a little slow on the uptake, he being quite fond of me while I had no clue of his feelings (meh, I thought he was after my best friend). We all worked together at Goofy’s (anyone wanna guess what that was?!) and once I realized it was me he was interested in, and I discovered mutual feelings, a whirlwind romance began.
Just weeks before I went away to college.
I made it the whole Fall semester (barely). We spent many hours on the road – him coming to visit, me going home. It’s amazing I passed my classes, so absorbed we were in each other. In …

Just so you don’t think I’ve dropped off the face of the earth, here’s a little update.

The puppy is doing very well – getting very comfortable and not getting up as much during the night as she was the first couple of nights.
She’s starting to want to play with the boys, which is unfortunate because her teeth as sharp as knives and since she’s teething, she wants to put everything, including us, in her mouth.
She’s already visited the office and Petsmart and melted everyone within a 10 foot radius.
Matt’s preschool graduation was Monday.  It was 90 degrees, in the gym, no a/c, no lights, but it went well.  My boy is getting so big!! I can’t believe kindergarten in the fall. 
Speaking of big, Preston must be going through his summertime growth spurt, since every time I look at him right now he looks taller and older.  STOP IT!!
We’re still struggling/figuring out what to do with Maggie.  The breeder/trainer that she has been with since before Memorial Day thinks that she is simply lacking in training and that she is completely fixable.  My only concern is that we won’t be able to train her right to fix the …

(Want her full name, per Matt? Daisy Mitzi Black Dog Gentz). She already has nicknames, which I am trying not to use too much so that she learns her (real) name. Also, I’m trying very hard not to call her Maggie, which I’ve slipped on a couple times already. Matt has taken to calling her Pooch, I call her Doodles, Doodlebop, little girl, and Daisy Mae/Daisy Doo. Mike calls her puppers. Preston squeals ‘doggie!’ or ‘puppy!’ with glee.

She, as you can see, is flippin adorable. She was born on April 25th to the nicest, most laid-back mama lab and has a nice pedigree. The breeder was/is very friendly and knows her labs, which is good. Also, the puppies were loved and played with by kids and lived inside the house, so are somewhat used to the sounds of a house with kids.

I picked her up on Saturday morning and we spent the day playing with her (well, when she wasn’t sleeping!). I have big hopes and plans for this puppy. I want her to be like my dorkdog was – laid back, …

It’s very exciting, I know, but I made a placemat tonight!!  It took very little time, and most of the effort was making a pattern to cut out, but, alas, some ironing and sewing and trimming and TAH-DAH!!

  Please ignore the icky floor. Matt hasn’t mopped in awhile.    And please ignore the super shiny glare – had to use flash in dark, stormy kitchen.  Just a cute puppy/dog fabric I found sandwiched between a couple sheets of vinyl to make it easy to clean.  Same on the reverse.
