   dude. i know it's pricey, but i hear that the sleep number bed rocks. i slept on one which was awesome. but, for two people with different needs, i hear it's wonderful. Reply

   I was hoping you'd get more responses. I have the same problems. I used to have a sleep number bed, I liked it, it was expensive but worth it. But do I remember if it was better than the uncomfortable thing I sleep on now... my memory fails me. It got a hole in one of the chambers, and we never fixed it, and decided to go from a King to a Queen when we moved. I just know my bones ache... mostly because of pregnancy, but I've been pregnant for 3 years now... hahaha...... Do I remember life before then? I've thought about tempurpedic, very expensive, is it worth it? I wish I knew someone with it. For now, I just have that foam thing as a topper. And I can dream of one day getting some kind of bed that I can wake up and feel refreshed in. And one day I won't have to depend on my chiropractor so much. Reply

   I bought a temperpedic mattress topper for my youngest son. It's crap. Honestly, it's only about an inch thick and it doesn't do much to provide any cushion to speak of. I am having bed issues as well. Our master bed is a top of the line model and it's like sinking into a cloud. I won't tell you how much it cost because it's embarassing. But it was so worth it. Husband and I don't sleep together. We alternate nights on the "good" bed, which means every other night, one of us is in agony. My sister swears by the sleep number beds, and I think we are going to purchase one for our spare bedrooom soon. Reply

   No doubt!! Do I really have to make a choice between putting my kids through college and a mattress??!! COME ON!! LOL!! I too have heard wonderful things about the SNB, many of the in-laws friends have them- older folk with back issues- and they love them. We slept on one once and it seemed pretty cool, but really would need a like a week or more to figure out my ideal number. ANYTHING would be better than the almost 9 year old POS we have now. Basically what we have now is a poor excuse for a mattress. Fabric with springs , a square with two indents on boths sides- I don't even bother flipping it anymore!! With regards to the temperpedic, hubby had a pillow of that material and he wasn't crazy about it. Also, I hear it holds heat, meaning that if you get warm when you sleep (I could sleep with the window open year round!) you get over heated with the temperpedic. This might be a plus for those of you who are always cold. Hope that helps. Let me know if you get the SNB, we'll need to get a new mattress before the year is out too!! Reply

   I have a friend who has the Tempurpedic mattresses in all rooms in her house. Now, she has the money to do that but she also says they are the best to sleep on. I have another friend who had a sleep number but I think he got rid of it because he and his new wife didn't want to share the bed he had with his old wife! Funny! Anyway, I like a firm mattress but I have to say that the good ones with pillow toppers are really nice. We actually tried out one at IKEA that felt really good. A good mattress is an investment and your back will thank you. But don't ask me which one is good for you! Just go by 5 or 6 of them and the ones you don't like to sleep on you can spread all over the floor in the boys play room and they can bounce off the walls!! Okay, maybe not so cost effective. Reply
