Utterly overwhelmed*

(*I wanted to use another word for overwhelmed, but my computer’s thesaurus said no.)

Last night I organized most of my fabric. The scraps and smaller pieces went in two of my cubby shelves, the larger pieces were re-folded (after being repeatedly tossed in the air by two madly giggling children who were “helping” me) and placed in cute little stacks in a clear plastic over-the-door shoe holder.

It went well enough that I thought it was time to finally organize my scrapbook supplies.  When I redid my room a few months ago, I did the bare minimum and shoved the rest in boxes that fit in my cubby shelves. So, I arranged for Grandma to come play with the boys today while I headed out to a couple stores to get the appropriate organizing materials.

My room is a complete and total disaster now. I’ve sorted lots of the little stuff and put it in new jars, put some ribbon on a wood dowel, and started sorting my papers.

My awesome paper holders? Don’t fit in my cubby shelves (by about one-bazillionth of an inch), I’ve found a bunch of stuff that I need to give away since I haven’t touched it in forever, and the moving things around has caused a gigantic mess over every surface and the floor.  I could barely find my keyboard.

Since I hung up a super-cute shelf to hold some stuff, I have to find a new place for my dry-erase board.

On top of that, I have a ton of work to do, and my guilt is in no way going to allow me to wait until Tuesday to tackle at least some of it.

On top of that, I’ve started re-doing my office website. Started. Not finished. Not even halfway yet.

I haven’t updated my personal website in a couple of months, much to the chagrin of my parents.

I scanned in, but haven’t posted, my most recent scrapbook pages to my nearly defunct scrapbooking group. Of course, my most recent are a few months old now.

I haven’t updated the Green Bag Experiment yet.

I’ve started a project for my office that I had wanted to get done before Tuesday and since I can’t currently see my sewing machine, I’m not sure that will happen.

I’m a month behind where I wanted to be with my halfathon training.

We are still working out where we are staying in NYC next month.  Well, this one doesn’t bother me, I just want to be there.  🙂

I didn’t get flowers for my office manager’s work anniversary sent out in time, so now they’re late because I suck. Bah. She won’t care, but I do. She’s one of my BFFs, so that makes it worse, not better.

And my husband just came in and said “you’ve been in here all night and it’s messier than ever! what have you been doing?” only half in jest.  His desk is clean – spotless even – for the first time in forever. <SIGH>

And my son? Took a nap today at 5pm.  He hasn’t stopped talking for 2 hours, literally.  I don’t see him going to bed ANY time soon.

I’m thirsty and I have to pee.

Oops. Was that TMI?  😀

defunct scrapbooking group? I think I know them! I can so relate to you about the room. I took pics of my office/scrap room before I moved everything around and then I thought I would take new pictures and post — when it was all finished. Ain't happened yet!!!! I have jury duty tomorrow and tons of work to do, too. But I have been going to crops 2 Fridays out of each month and a couple all day crops. Do I have half of my pages scanned in? NO!! But I'll try before I get too far behind. Hope you get everything put in it's place!!

I cannot fathom having a hobby that required organization beyond what is required for the everyday needs of a family. I struggle organizing the silverware.
