are you sirius?

One of my favorite go-to channels in my car has always been Shuffle.  Planted firmly between The Pulse and Raw Dog, it has occupied preset spot number 4 for years now.  A great station playing the best (and worst sometimes) of every major genre; generally good for those “I haven’t heard this song in FOREVER moments”.

Apparently, Shuffle has become all Rolling Stones, ALL THE TIME.

Now I like a few Stones songs, and I know they’ve been around forever (seriously, Keith Richards? Is he really alive or did someone dig him up? Ewww…) but a station that plays their music commercial free 24/7 is bound to play the same song more often than not. The album version, the live version, the acoustic version, the remastered version, the holy-shit-we’re-so-drunk-we-can’t-remember-the-lyrics version.

Yuck.

So, goodbye Shuffle.  I had to replace you with <gasp> Movin Ez for now (a complete preset overhaul is obviously in order).

Oh, and while I’m on the subject of Sirius…why in the world do they play Bon Jovi and Guns n Roses on Hits 1? Don’t they belong on my 80s channel?? (that would be preset 2, just for the record!).

You know, this is actually a good meme topic. WAIT! Don’t click away screaming and rolling your eyes, yet!  Music has always been a huge part of my life, and I think you can learn a lot about a person when you know what they listen to.  So, I am creating a meme.

And I tag ALL OF YOU!!!!!! Yes, you hate memes, fine.  But really, do I ever ask anything of you, ever? Please????  🙂

List the radio stations you have preset on your car (or home or office) stereo, in order – at least 5.  Please provide a description of the music if it’s not obvious.  Can be XM, Sirius or Local Radio.

  1. Hits 1 – popular pop, etc. music (current)
  2. 80s – hits from the 1980s (btw, I despise Alan Hunter as a DJ)
  3. The Pulse – 90s and Now
  4. Movin Ez – adult contemporary (whatever that means! it’s just a place holder right now)
  5. Blue Collar Radio – COMEDY
  6. Raw Dog – Comedy with lots of swearing
  7. Blues
  8. Backspin – old rap music, like Beastie Boys, NWA, Fresh Prince – you know, when they rapped?
  9. Traffic & Weather – my local weather and traffic, every 4 minutes, with Las Vegas in between. 🙂
Ok, you get the idea.  I also have 90s alternative, regular alternative, country, smooth jazz, coffee house and kid’s music.
What about you?
