Mike is playing a car racing/crashing game on his PS3 in the family room, much to the delight of the boys, who love to cheer his racing and crashing on. They pick the cars, yell out how many cars he’s crashed (ooh, educational, too!), and generally can’t get enough.
For me, that means I just got to take a fabulously long, hot, quiet shower. Got dressed without help, and was able to dry my hair without the boys throwing their hands over their ears and screaming ‘it’s too loud!’ as they run from the bathroom.
I’m feeling altogether lazy today, relaxed from my shower, on this cloudy nearly-spring like day. Of course I have things to do. But right now? I’m listening to my guys downstairs and blog-browsing. Maybe later I’ll get something accomplished. Or, maybe not.
As Matt would say: This is the life!
Sunday stuff
Too many
Today at work I was talking to Doc about our NPI and PIN and BCBS numbers. They are all connected to our UPIN, Tax ID, his license number and our address. I had to set something up online with an insurance company and I needed a login and password to input the NPI, PIN, UPIN and Tax Id. We were talking about it because we had to change and get new suddenly for no apparent reason.
Tonight I was trying to make a ringtone for my phone. It’s super easy – well, unless you forget your password for itunes and then your computer will yell at you and tell you to answer your secret question (after entering your birth date) and when you forget the answer to your secret question too many times? It will kick you out for 8 hours. No new ringtone for me! And I still can’t figure out what the heck the secret question answer is!
I’m not very creative when it comes to user name and passwords. Seriously, I should be way better. But if I get too creative, I’ll never remember. And it’s not very safe to write every password down anywhere, right? There’s got to …
arbitrary things
Lots of stuff in my head the last couple of days, figured it was time to pour it out here (heh, i just pictured a bright green cup full of random words tipping over and landing on the counter, forming sentences on their own…)
Bad news, again in my family (really, how much more can we handle…wait, never mind, I don’t want to know). My uncle died in the wee hours of Monday morning. The uncle that was married to the aunt that just passed away? Yeah, I know. Took a spill, bumped his head very hard and had internal bleeding in the brain that couldn’t be stopped. I can’t even imagine the devastation of my cousins losing both parents within two months. I. can’t. imagine. Talk about having to be a grown-up for real and from now on…
Made plans to go to an indoor water park with the neighbors and their kids in a couple weeks. It’s actually pretty funny…it’s about 30 miles away and we’re staying the night! Just one night, play both days, then home. Strikes me as seriously funny for some reason.
Looking so forward to the NY trip in a couple of months! …
Easter at our house
Well, the day is done. The boys are finally winding down, the family is on their way home, darkness is falling. And I’m blogging about it (Hi JJ!).
The Easter Bunny left baskets and eggs for the boys – cars and candy and fun stuff. And then with each guest arrival, they got more. Two egg hunts in one day! In fact, self-named “Easter Matt” is doing his own egg hunt as I type. He tells me where he is hiding the eggs and then we have to find them. Seriously, how can he not be in bed at this point? I’m ready!
The day was nice…you know, in that loud kid, adults talking, dishes clattering kind of family way. It was the first time I’d seen everyone since Ryan’s surgery and I had a little bit of a chance to chat with him about how he’s doing and what is going on. Unfortunately, we were interrupted by his need-to-control-everything dad <rolleyes>. He looks good and aside from the very large scar on his noggin, he looks no worse for the wear. Except he has hair, which is weird since he’s been bald for years. …
It’s a good thing…
…that I don’t bet on the NCAA tournament, since Connecticut lost yesterday and I had them going all the way on my bracket.
…that we have all day and tomorrow morning to clean the house before company comes for Easter dinner. Because the playroom? Destroyed by the neighbor kids last night. DE-STROYED. The boys love having friends over, but geez, they are like little tornadoes, pulling everything out!
…it’s spring, because otherwise there would still be snow…oh wait, we got like 6 inches last night <rolleyes>
…that Matt can’t read yet, because I would have a lot of explaining to do every time he grabs the newspaper to “read”.
…we’re all over the flu. Too bad we all have some variations of colds now.
…the sun came out today
…the boys had fun dyeing easter eggs, even though it took longer to cook said eggs than dye them.
more soon…
