Oh, my aching neck

…and shoulder and back….the site redo was both easier and harder than I thought. I was really over-thinking a lot of things, and when I finally just decided to get my feet wet with my current theme, it was not too bad.

Mike mentioned that I hadn’t moved from the chair with my laptop in like 4 hours yesterday evening. Meh, he was right! It was just one of those evenings where I didn’t want to do anything that involved cleaning or laundry or housework of any kind. I wanted to play with my blog. I wanted a new theme, but not really, and I had to “quick” teach myself how to play with CSS. By the end, I was bleary eyed and ready to be done.

And then I stayed up for another hour and a half reading in bed. I’m reading The Other Boleyn Girl.

I normally don’t read much from that time period (1520s in this case), but I am a sucker for royalty and such.  And seeing the ads  for the movie made from the book seemed pretty interesting. (I probably won’t enjoy the movie as much as the book; I never do!).  Anyway, I am finding it interesting and liking it.  It seems to be based on some fact of the time, though, honestly, I’m not real clear on my history from that time period in England. 🙂   Either way, I’m astounded at the way children were raised then – sent away to a wet nurse soon after birth, seen by their parents rarely, married off starting at 12 or 13. Crazy!  I’m only about a quarter of the way through it, but since it’s the book closest to me and it’s long, I thought I might jump on this meme while I’m at it!

First,  the rules:

  1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages)
  2. Open the book to page 123
  3. Find the 5th sentence
  4. Post the next three sentences
  5. Tag 5 people

My results:

{Suddenly, like a striking snake, she reached out and grabbed my hand in a fierce grip.} At once she twisted it behind my back and held me so that I could move neither forward nor backward but only cry out in pain: “Anne! Don’t! You’re really hurting!”

“Well, hear this,” she hissed in my ear. “Hear this, Mary.”…

Ooh, you’re on the edge of your seat, aren’t you?! hehe

Ok, and now that I’ve done it, I’m not quite sure what the point of it was…. ah well. And as far as rule #5? Anyone wanna do it? Leave me a comment if you do!  😀
