Working from home

Have I told you all that I love my new office setup? Seriously, I feel like I can solve the problems of the world from here! I’m totally organized, have everything I need at my fingertips and since my room is set up with workspaces all over it, I’m loving it!!

I’m waiting for my new washer and dryer to arrive, so I’m up in my room while the sounds of Handy Manny filter up the stairs. Of course, the boys are in here with me, so why the Disney channel is even on, I’m not sure! 😀 (Molly is running late this morning – I was starting to worry because of the snow, but it turns out she overslept.)

Matt is having problems pooping AGAIN. Seriously, he whines and moans and screams but he won’t sit on the toilet. I can’t believe we’re going through this again.

Speaking of Matt and problems… does anyone have any knowledge of 4-year old separation anxiety issues? Matt absolutely refused to go to school yesterday. Crying, sobbing, screaming…he said he would miss me, he missed Fooby…and while I believe that he does miss the dog and that he does miss me a little, I know that he loves school! We got there yesterday, and I carried him because I don’t want to be that parent who gives in to their child’s every whim, and it was horrible. No amount of cajoling, bribing, promising or annoyance would get him to stay. And while I appreciated greatly his teacher’s desire to keep him there and efforts to do so, I couldn’t leave him so upset with her. I mean, it’s preschool, not daycare. (Yes, if it had been daycare I would have left him because I know he would have been fine given some time). It’s not fair to her or the other kids to have to coddle mine because he misses me and the dog.

Any hints, tips, tricks, ideas??

I have a feeling that unless he poops soon, I’m going to have company in my room here ALL DAY. <sigh>

my sister\'s 4 year old son (matt as well) does this occasionally too. but, she has to leave him there because she can\'t take him to her workplace. however, right after she leaves, he is fine…like nothing happened. that is probably why his teacher tried to get you to leave him there…it happens all the time. the end result usually the same…a mentally UNDAMAGED child (despite constipation). sounds like he is testing you 🙂
