Children’s Book Review

I love books. I love children’s books. It’s almost embarrassing how many books we have. The boys’ book shelves are packed and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My newest favorites were recommended to me by Shine on one of our night out visits to the bookstore. These are really not the best bedtime books, as there is mucho silliness and laughter.

Oh, and you have to be able to fake (or have!) a Spanish accent to make it worthwhile. 🙂

Skippyjon Jones is a kitty who thinks he is a chihuahua. He puts on his cape and mask and becomes El Skippito the Great Sword Fighter and has adventures in his closet. His mama is silly and always wants him to think about what it means to be a kitty…but Skippyjon doesn’t want to be a kitty! 🙂

I love these books! Of course, any book that has the words “Holy Guacamole!” is good with me!

So check em out. There are also a couple of board books about colors and opposites that Preston gets a kick out of. The only thing we’re missing is a stuffed Skippyjon. Oh, and start with the original Skippyjon Jones to get the whole story. 🙂
