Oh, the trauma!

Mike and decided to renew our gym membership this past week.  Today was the first day I had a chance to go with the boys.  Matt has been there before, but it has been awhile; Preston went maybe once or twice as an infant. They seemed excited and  ready to play in the big maze and with the toys and climbers and such.

I was bounding (yes, bounding, I felt good!) down the steps toward the locker room after my workout when I heard my name called over the PA system.

Preston did really well, but after about an hour he was done.  Traumatized.  Crying.  He wanted his mama.  It was seriously about the first time he had ever really been away from me in a strange place with…with, well,  strangers.  He probably only did as well as he did because Matt was there with him. When I walked in he was barely hanging on and holding back the tears, his face all read and sad.  As soon as I made it to him, he was in my arms and sobbing.  Poor baby.

Needless to say, we’ll have to work on that!

it\'s heartbreaking isn\'t it, when you find them sobbing over you?

Ahh, poor thing. Once I left Jess at the gym and she did pretty good. And when we go to church I leave her in the nursery and she does pretty good. I\'m shocked because the first 13 months of her life she was attached at the hip and would go to NO ONE, not even my hubby, then all of the sudden, she broke free. Thank goodness, it will make preschool much easier on the both of us. I just have to work on the potty training, or there won\'t be a preschool to go to, hahaha!

I was thinking of joining the gym again, just so she\'d have more opportunity to be away from me, and see how Jon would do. So far he\'s not as bad as she was at four months, but really I haven\'t left him with anyone, but he does go to people when they visit, so far. Good luck, keep trying, it\'ll get better! It\'s a good thing Matt was there, otherwise he would not have made it an hour I\'m sure.
