Ka-Chow!

It’s a bit on the late side here in the Midwest, but Preston took a late nap this afternoon and expressed a desire to watch Cars.  The ever wise and wonderful one suggested watching it in our bed and I jumped at the chance.  Watching a Pixar movie in bed with the Goog? Not much better than that.  And after the afternoon I had, I need it.

I’ve got some financial issues at work. Between my high payroll (which isn’t changeable) and the absurd price of health insurance, plus the fact that it’s starting to slow down, business-wise, it all hit me at once (as it does on weeks when payroll and insurance plus lab bills are all due).  I was swimming drowning in a sea of despair and desperation when my wonderful husband began offering silly and sweet things to make me laugh and feel better.

  • The boys seem to really like hot dogs and mac & cheese….they would eat that for quite awhile….  🙂
  • You can take all the bottles back and have that money…it’s bound to be 6 or 8 grand.  ( Seriously, the stack of returnables in our garage is completely and totally absurd.  And intimidating.)

That coupled with a Raspberry Smirnoff Ice, and things were looking less horrid. It’ll all work out – somehow or another.  I have long-standing relationships with most of my vendors and hopefully honesty will go a long way with them.  Well, that and some cash.

Before the money issues smacked me in the face like a 2 year old hopped up on sugar, I was having a rather nice day.  K and I got to do some talking at the office and there was a lot of laughter. Laughter that we both needed. Laughter that we don’t get often enough.

“I’m a precision instrument of speed and aerodynamics!”

“You hurt yer what?”
