THAT was new!

Shine and I went out for our monthly dinner last night.  As usual, we waited until we were walking out the door to decide where to go.  Her husband suggested a restaurant that just opened that used to be something else. SURE! Location known, name and style not, we headed out in her new Edge (sa-weeet car, for the record!).

We arrived at Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse…we figured we were under dressed as the hostesses were wearing what I can describe only as either an upscale bridesmaid dress or something you would wear to prom.  They assured us we were fine, so we got seated.   This was something Shine had experienced in a slightly different manner in Chicago, but I never had before.  Basically, they have a salad bar (but not a regular, boring salad bar) and then the Gauchos come around to your table with like 11 different cuts of meat, one at a time, and they cut a piece off for you.  You get sides of mashed potatoes and fried bananas.  It was awesome.  You get these little tokens on your table – when it’s green, they keep stopping by with meat; red means Holy Crap I’m FULL!  🙂

Anyway, combined with a cool atmosphere, good conversation and just being out, it was a lovely evening and fun to do something different.

And just FYI, the very first thing I said was “Mike is going to be so mad that I came here without him!”  😆
