The Big City

A swift decision was made on Friday afternoon that Saturday would be spent in the “big city” of Ann Arbor. The initial plan was to go to Zingerman’s for some super yummy sandwiches and do some window shopping. If you’ve never had a sandwich from Zingerman’s…well, you are missing out!! It is totally worth a trip to Ann Arbor (or at least their website where you can order all sorts of fabulous stuff). And their mac & cheese – well, I’d almost give up my first born for it. 🙂

So after Z’s we walked through the farmer’s market, fondled some tomatoes and headed over to the Hands On Museum. It was the first time we’d ever been there and the boys were having so much fun! Preston had a ton of fun with magnets and loved playing the piano that he could walk on (think Big). Matt was enthralled with the real ambulance they had inside and would’ve stayed playing in that for the rest of the day, had Preston not been getting really tired.

All in all, it was a fun and good day with the boys. Unfortunately, the end of the day was marred by a horrible bath incident with Matt. He didn’t want to take one and we wanted him to. Suffice to say there was much screaming and crying going on, it could’ve (and should’ve) been handled differently, apologies all around and life is good again.

This morning is dedicated to pancake making and observing (the boys and daddy) and lots of cleaning (mama) before the grandparents come over to celebrate Matt’s birthday this afternoon.

Sounds like a perfectly wonderful day.

Well, all except the bath part. But I\'m glad everyone has recovered.

We love the HOM too! Did Matt enjoy being \"the boy in the bubble\"? We usually have to spend at least 15 min just there! Glad you had some nice days with the boys- isn\'t summer great?!
