Busted by my own son

I have much to say, but now is not the time (crazy kids on a rainy day!) I also have pictures to share…

BUT

We went to the grocery store and in the hectic craziness of getting the boys out to the garage, the dog into her crate, and the boys into the car, I failed to puts Matt’s seatbelt on (he’s in a booster seat now).  I got Preston all strapped in and while I did that, Matt got into his seat and shut his door (see, I normally leave his door open as a reminder that I’m not done with my mama responsibilities!)

So, we get to the store, not a word mentioned during the ride, and I realize

TO MY UTTER AND COMPLETE HORROR

that I failed to strap my son in. On a nasty rainy day. In the car.  Hello, BAD MAMA!   Lucky for us, all was well, and I asked my lovely son to please let me know if I ever do something so silly again.

Fast forward to our leaving the grocery store:

<Scene> One boy in cart, one walking beside. Misty rain on a warm Spring day. After digging for my keys, I open Matt’s door and ask him to hop in out of the rain and parking lot.

And my son says, loudly, “Mom, don’t forget to buckle me in this time!”

I had to laugh (so any CPS in the area would think it was a silly silly joke!).

Needless to say, I strapped him in nice and tight for the ride home.  😀

you know, we did the exact same thing last week. (not in the rain…) we were leaving the zoo and driving down the street and M yells \"you forgot to buckle me!\" wow.
