and then I really don’t want to talk about VT anymore. I will forever feel pain and sadness for the victims, but I can’t keep talking or thinking about it.

The media (or anyone) can speculate and discuss and talk about until the flippin cows come home about how that kid shouldn’t have been legally allowed to buy guns because he was mentally disturbed (ya think?!) but it doesn’t matter!!! Someone like that had plans.  He would have gotten the guns one way or another!  There are ways to get things that go outside of the law, so people can spout off about gun control and background checks and blah blah blah for the rest of time.  This kid was going to do what he did, with or without the law on his side.

By all means, make the background checks more comprehensive. Make sure privacy laws don’t include mental instability to be kept private in such cases.  When a judge says someone is disturbed, enforce (force) treatment.  Tell the parents.  But don’t tell me this kid wouldn’t have done what he did if he had been denied a gun legally.
