My dad is back in town.
They called to see if they could come see the boys today. I’m starting to wonder of they ever hear me at all when I speak to them. Seriously. Here’s our conversation:
Dad: When would be a good time to come over?
Me: Anytime, really. What time were you thinking?
Dad: Probably around 1. After lunch we were thinking.
Me: Ok, sounds good. Around…. <then I get cut off and Linda gets on the phone>
Linda: So what time? 1? 130? 2? Later?
Me: Uh, well, I thought dad and I just agreed on right after lunch, about 1….
Linda: Ok, so we’ll be there a little after one then. After lunch.
Me <perplexed>: Um, ok….
Here’s the thing: if you have a specific time you want to come, just say that! The problem, without question, is that they want a guarantee that the boys will be happy and fun and not on the verge of needing a nap. Can anyone guarantee that?? NO.

They came about 2:45, stayed for over an hour and the boys had a great time, which is really all that matters I guess.

I went for a bike ride!!! Got to ride my new Lime and all was well…except for the fact that I am totally out of shape and the second trip around our neighborhood just about killed me. Not to mention that it is WINTER and the wind was strong and bitter! My ears were killing me more than my legs when I got done!

Oh geez, the break is over…sorry! Will they be retiring permanently to the South anytime soon??:) My family is pretty clueless when it comes to the kids too. They don\'t quite understand you can\'t just not let them nap and expect them to deal with it. THERE WILL BE CRYING!!! Screaming is likely in our house too. Yeah, the bike thing, I hate that hurting ear thing, I have to wait until it\'s at least 60 before I ride!
