Here little mousy-mouse…

There is a mouse in the office. Actually, this is the second one. Did I tell you all about the one my staff found in the toilet? EEK. That was last week. So today I got a phone call from G, who, by the way, was totally LAUGHING at her co-worker’s reaction (she screamed like a little girl being chased by an serial killer). Apparently, there is a little fella doing some filing in our back room cupboards. There is a hole, not on the outside wall, but between our office and the next and we’re thinking the mouse (please, we all know they travel in multiples!) mice probably came from there. So, Doc will be setting a couple of traps tomorrow in the morning and closing up the hole. I’m hoping there’s not more that we can’t see. I’m glad he’s such a guy, because the whole mouse thing grosses me out.

We had mice when we lived in our condo. They hung out in the dog food. It seemed to make them happy, but me? Not so much! Oh, and my cats? Chased them around and thought they were playthings. In fact, my one cat, Phil, actually played with one so much that he killed it and I almost picked it up thinking it was one of his toys! Bah!

Anyway, so I’m really keeping my fingers crossed that we can catch a few and have it be over, but I’m preparing for the worst. Blech.

Underwear update: Matt is doing ok. This morning he was whisked away to Lowe’s for the big, manly grill purchasing, so we didn’t push the underwear until he got home. He did really well for a while then fell apart after playing in the sink and getting all well and wanted to take a nap, so a diaper was put on. Later when it came to change it, I told him there weren’t any pull-ups nearby, so he needed to put on fresh undies. With Thomas on his butt, he did a great job for the rest of the day. Tomorrow I’m on my own, so hopefully I’ll be able to keep him with it. Since it’s so new, he wants us to come with him every single time, which I don’t mind, but I think Preston will soon!

At one point today I was looking at him in his Thomas the Tank Engine underwear and I was thinking about how big he is. I just look at him, so tall and thin and I felt my heart clench a little bit. I love the grown-up-ness that underwear are and I love him being on the brink of independence but still wanting to be my baby. Such a crazy time. It’s wonderful and heart-breaking and frustrating.

Is anyone watching Thank God You’re Here! ? It’s a sketch comedy show where stand-ups go into situations they know nothing about and have to improv the whole thing. It’s pretty freaking funny. 😀 Might have to become part of my weekly watch list. Scratch that…if every episode is as LOL funny as this one was, I’m totally adding it to my tivo list!!

LOL, I can so picture that scene at your office! Too funny! It is amazing when you stop and look at your kids for just a moment. A couple of weeks ago when it was like 70 degrees, I put last years shorts on my little guy and couldn\'t believe how skinny his legs looked!! They get so big so fast!
