Happy Easter!

A small slide show for you to enjoy!

It’s been a nice few days…Saturday at my mom’s house, this morning an egg hunt and baskets at home and this afternoon dinner with Mike’s family. Preston was very much into both decorating the eggs and hunting for them. He was so disappointed when he found them all that Mike kept setting the ones he already found back down so he could “find” them again!

The weather totally sucks around here and it looks to be awhile before it warms up again. Wondering now why I was in such a hurry to get my new bike when I can’t even ride it!! 🙁

So we forced the underwear issue with Matt yesterday.  After about an hour of crying about it, he was super good all day and only had one accident.  By the end of the day he was pretty excited about how well he did, but also pretty excited about putting a diaper on for bed time!!  This morning he was more resistant to putting on underwear, but we fought through it, dealt with the crying and screaming for a little while and he ended up doing really well again.  After we got home he had an accident (I asked him like 3 minutes prior if he needed to go!), but it was time for pjs anyway, so all was well.  We’ve decided to give it a week.  He has a chart with the days, starting today, and if when he makes it to next Saturday, he will get a new Thomas the Tank Engine train set of his choosing.  I’m hoping that a week will get him just enthused enough about it to continue on without too many more bribes needed.  I wish I knew what his issue was.  At first I thought it was fear of accidents, but I don’t really think so.  I think it has more to do with growing up than anything.  My many reassurances that he’ll always be my baby don’t seem to make him feel better, but we’ll stick with it!!  Wish us luck!  He’s totally got it under control, though I think he’s already sick of us asking if he needs to go!

Cool slideshow!! Don\'t worry all will fall into place, it\'s one of the few things they can control and some kids have a hard time letting go. It was 2 months prior to Punkin Pie\'s 4th B-day before he finally got into the swing of using the potty regularly. And even then, I was still concerned about accidents for another 3 months or so. And even now he wears pull ups to bed because he won\'t wake up to go potty. So everyone has their own challenges, but this time next year you will be wondering what all the fuss was about. P.S. Everyone said the exact same thing to me as I was going through it too. : )
