18 months already?

P went in for his 18 mo visit this morning.  33 inches tall and nearly 30 pounds, he’s in the 95th and 75th percentiles, respectively.  I’m pretty sure they’ve modified that chart since  Matt was that old, as he was about the same size (IIRC) and above the 95th percentile.   All is well; no shots, no problems.  He doesn’t like the exam rooms, but we all love our NP Emily.  She has 2 boys just younger than mine and is absolutely wonderful.   Funny comment by her: He can’t be 18 months already, you were just pregnant! My response? Nah, I just look that way!  😀

Gma & Gpa Bo came over to visit the boys tonight, as they missed seeing them over the weekend.  We had dinner and they played – I’m so happy we have parents that enjoy our boys! They aren’t bothered and are, in fact, enchanted by my loud, silly, goofy boys. Matt is really starting to speak more clearly (to “outsiders” that is; we’ve always been able to understand his babbling!) and was hilarious having dinner conversation.  Gma spent some time cuddled up on the couch with both of them reading and doing those search-for-stuff books.  I got a couple of pictures but forgot to upload. Oops.  Very cute though.  🙂

The boys and I did some shopping today, too.  Matt wanted to go to the “shirt store” after looking at clothes online the other day.  So we hit Old Navy and then Famous Footwear where they were both SO good! I knew we were done shopping though, when Matt got sad big eyes about a little tiny box at Famous Footwear (it was a little gift card box that looked like a shoe box).  As we walked away, I assured him we had boxes at home.  He walked slowly and kept glancing back at the store, with those big brown eyes. Once he even said I sure wish I had that little box.  What was I saying about my heart breaking? GEEZ!  I seriously considered going back and getting him the damn little box, even if it meant buying myself a gift card!  But then I realized how ridiculous that would be, and besides, it was all I could do to lug P., their bag of stuff, a bag of shoes and keep my eye on Matt all the way to the car.  We talked about other options and decided we could paint a different shoe box up and make a bed for his Elly and make a blanket.  Of course, by the time we got home, he forgot all about it and moved on to other things!  Que Sera Sera!

Your sooo lucky he forgot about that box! Alexis is like a sponge with an elephants brain, she soaks it all up and remembers, even a couple months later! lol… If I were to tell her that, when we got home she would say \"But Mom, you said we could paint a box for my baby!\" lol… Kids! On another note, I cant believe P is 18 months old, Actually, I cant believe Matt is his age either, seems like yesterday I was reading the pregnancy journal for both of them waiting on their arrival!
