Have you dragged your kid lately?

I have!!  LOL.  😀

As per my previous post, it’s time for the boy to understand that sometimes he doesn’t get a choice.  We got going early this morning (both boys were up around 6:30) to run some errands.  Knowing they would both get tired sooner than later, I thought morning errands, relaxing day.  Things started out well – pay taxes, get new recycle bins, then hit BabiesRUs for the dipes for P.  We got to BRU and when I went to get Matt out of the car, he started screaming that he didn’t want to go in.  Well, too bad. We’re dangerously low in the diaper area and would not have made it through the day.  A trip there was in order, since I wanted the 100 packs – so sick am I of buying lower quantities at the grocery for more money!

He screamed. I tried to make a game out of it. How fast can we get in and out?  No dice.

He slid out of his seat and went toward the back of the car, spotting the stroller.  Demanded to use it.  I said Nope. Not gonna  happen, my friend.

He came toward the door (did I mention I was already holding P?) so I grabbed his arm and hauled him out.  He was dragging his feet, crying and whining.  I was dragging him.  Too bad, we have to go in, I said.  I literally dragged my son INTO a store.  Once we were in there, grabbed the diapers, and TAH-DAH !!  He was fine.  That was it.  Score one for mama!

Girl – you go!! I haven\'t had to do that for a long time but I sure did when I had to. I let Hannah know right away that it was tough luck for her. There are things that have to be done and she was going to have to go along. Now she\'s older so when she says, \"I don\'t want to go/I get tired of going to Walmart/mall/post office/etc.\" I say, \"I don\'t always want to drive you to karate or gymnastics but it\'s part of our life and sometimes we have to do things we don\'t \"feel\" like doing!\" That\'s a big step for you and you be consistent and he\'ll be saying \"Crap, this screaming stuff doesn\'t help!\"

Well not lately, but when he was 3 I did at least once a week. It was exactly the same thing, we\'d get somewhere and he\'d decide he didn\'t want to be there. So I simply pick him up like a sack of potatoes under my arm and off we\'d go. Lots of glares and stares, but if you\'re a parent, you understand. If not, stare all you like, I\'m doing the best I can!!
