Come Rain or Come Shine

Ever come across a blog of someone you’ve never met and become totally involved and have to read all of it?  Isn’t the Internet a strange and wonderful place? I came across a blog tonight – a link from a link from my dashboard here at wordpress led me to a woman’s blog who has written out her pain and triumph (and additional pain) of infertility and IVF treatments and finally, the birth of her son (premature) and additional efforts for a baby.  Her sense of humor was wonderful and her emotion, raw.  It’s hard to say I enjoyed reading it, but I certainly felt her pain and her elation and her disbelief.  The marks of a good writer, that’s for sure.  I think it’s interesting how involved and emotional we can become about people we’ve never even met, and yet we have trouble expressing the same feelings about and to people we see every day.  Are we more or less honest online than we are in person?  I guess it depends on the situation, eh?  I read another blog the other day wherein this young woman discussed how she is miserable and fully intends on killing herself some day. She simply knows that it is the way she is going to die and has been planning and will be planning it for years. A cry for attention? Maybe, but somehow I don’t think so.  I think she will kill herself one day and unfortunately, I don’t think there will be many outside of her family that will have been able to get past that part of her to mourn the life she could have led.  Like a watching train wreck, will I keep checking in on her?  Probably.  There are probably few people in the world who haven’t at least had the thought of suicide cross their minds; dare I say I feel a little bit sorry for her and curious as to the path she will eventually take?

Matt had another nightmare (terror) last night.  2 nights in a row, both waking up Preston, and there is little sleep happening in the family bed or otherwise.  Tonight I’ve decided to leave his little light on, in hopes of dissuading any bad dreams.  We shall see what happens.  Hopefully nothing!

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. My first real day back at work since the new year (nice, eh?) and I have to spend part of it getting my teeth cleaned.  :x  I despise the dentist.  Not personally, you see, just theoretically.  I love having my teeth all nice and clean, but there is absolutely nothing pleasant about the experience.  Well, maybe the new toothbrush at the end.

Yes! I came across a blog of a lady who interpreted her own dreams. It was one of the most fascinating things I had ever run across and I stayed up the entire night, reading it. Isn\'t it amazing how we can get so attached to people? Her words were magical.

With regards to helping Matt with his bad dreams, maybe a new bedtime routine can help prevent them, I did this with Punkin Pie: Scary spray- we sprayed a couple of spritzes of scary spray to rid his room of scaries (it\'s really bath and body works body spray- you can use water in a misting bottle too.) Visualization- we talk about the fun things we\'re going to do the next day (if we have something special planned) or thing about one of our favorite places like the beach. I have him help me think of all the things we see and hear on the beach and we end with eating a big ice cream cone. By then his mind is distracted enough from scary things and also he\'s rather tired, he will fall asleep quickly.
