Product Review Sunday

We used the Cusinart Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker for the second time tonight. I’d have to give it 4.5 out of 5 stars! Seriously, it is tremendously easy to use and makes fantastic ice cream! The first night we made chocolate and it was so smooth and creamy; it pleased both chocolate lovers in the house (me and Matt) and Mike actually liked it too (which is pretty good for a guy who really only likes chocolate ice cream via Neapolitan!). Tonight we made strawberry and it was super yummy!

We’ve followed the recipes that came with the machine – it has not only ice cream, but frozen yogurt, sorbet & sherbet and even some dairy-free treat recipes. Everything is very easy – the only downside is the prep (which so isn’t a downside so much as a step). For the strawberry we had to break out the food processor to blend the berries and milk and sugar, but the actual making of the ice cream is so simple, it’s crazy! You just freeze the bowl overnight and then once you prep your ingredients, pull the bowl out of the freeze and put it in the machine. Turn it on, pour the stuff in and wait for it to turn into soft serve! It’s very cool. And the sprinkle dispensers on the side? HUGE hit with the kids.

It’s a tiny bit labor intensive to clean, but still, it’s only 4 parts and they come clean easily. All in all, a fantastic product so far! Next up: Cookie Dough Ice Cream!!
