I can’t lay (lie) on my belly

It just hurts my back way too much these days! Gone are the carefree days of lying on the floor, head propped up on my hands and kicking my legs around while I read or watch tv. I watch with complete envy when the kids do it. I keep trying though; in fact, I’m suffering right now. <sigh>

It’s extraordinarily loud in my house (and garage) right now. We decided to make a claim on the Great Turkey-Induced Flood of ’06 and they came last night and ripped out drywall in the garage ceiling and opened up below my tub and left us with 3 monster fans to dry everything out before the replacement of insulation and drywall. So although I finally have adapted to the sound of a fan every night for the past 12 years (and still desperately dream of silence), this is a little excessive. My head felt throbby all night. Of course, combined with P. getting up 4 times last night screaming, it was a heck of a night for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a staff meeting tomorrow night. Suffice to say it’s been a while and it many ways, much too long. I dread it because I know that 80% of what I say will go in one (four) ear(s) and out the other(s), and that it does nothing for morale to be told what is going wrong. Unfortunately, knowing what is going wrong is vital to our success, whether it makes them happy or not. Trust me when I say I don’t like to tell my employees what they’re doing wrong; I’d much rather tell them how awesome they are!

Since the holidays are rapidly approaching, I am trying hard to get some gifts figured out. The easiest and hardest to buy for is my friend K-dog ๐Ÿ˜€ I have a zillion ideas of things to get her. Some are totally out of my price range but I wanna! And others I can’t get. I have struck out on 2 things already that I desperately wanted for her – both sold out, unavailable, no way Jose items. ๐Ÿ™ But alas, I shall persevere! Today I started and finished my dad! Usually the hardest for me, I am jumping in with an idea and running with it. And in the true spirit of the holidays, too bad if he doesn’t like it – it’s what I want him to have! LOL. Mike and I are going to celebrate my birthday by going Christmas shopping – I am SO excited!!!!

And one of these days, exercise will move from my head to my body and I will get into shape! ๐Ÿ˜€ Probably the wrong time of year, but I will keep starting until I get it right.
