Turkey, turkey, turkey!

Well, that’s over! LOL. Actually, we had a very nice Thanksgiving. Mike’s turkey turned out Martha Stewart perfect and tasted fabulous!! My man, such a chef!! Lucky me, I know. ๐Ÿ˜› Of course, at other things he’s not so amazing – like remembering to turn off the water in the tub while defrosting above referenced turkey….I went to get my hair cut and just when i was on my way home, I called to check in. Not moments into the conversation I was cut off by a couple of expletives to which I replied: I’ll let you go! Assuming it was something about the boys, I had no worries. I mean come on, P. thunks his head or falls down 497 times a day, so we’re fairly laid back about it. ๐Ÿ™‚ But then I got a phone call back explaining that in the midst of refilling the tub he forgot to turn off the water. Well, I’m sorry, but I had to laugh (and laugh I did, as soon as I hung up…pretty much the whole way home). Mike was very annoyed with himself (and the fact that a phone call to the insurance company is in order due to the gushing of water into the garage!), but I (and our neighbor when we told him today) thought it was pretty freaking funny. ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyway, Thanksgiving was nice. My dad brought my grandma over. She’s doing alright, but her dementia makes her think she’s living in a time about 20 years ago. Apparently, she always asks about my mom’s mom (who has been dead for many years), but she asked about my grandpa yesterday (who has been gone over 20 years now!). Unfortunately, that meant my mom had to go through the whole story of what happened to him. The worst part? 2 minutes after that, my grandma couldn’t even have told you what they were talking about. ๐Ÿ™ I mean literally, her short-term memory is basically nonexistent at this point. Oddly, even while she thinks her husband is still alive, she remembers who we all are still. Sad, no matter what.

Today we decorated the Christmas Tree in the family room and put up lights outside. We hadn’t done lights on the house yet, but we’re all so in the spirit this year we just had to do it! The peaks of our roof are a wee bit too tall to reach, but we compensated by putting more in the bushes and in the front of the house. ๐Ÿ˜€ Fun!ร‚ย  I’ll try to share some pics.

Well, the wee one is screaming (AGAIN), and I’ve promised to finish the boys’ wish lists and my own this weekend, so I guess that’s all from the sunny side of the street!
