Phew!

Well, that’s over – back to the real world for a while now! :D  Preston’s birthday party was wonderful! So many people love him (and us, I suppose!). The house was packed, we had way too much food (YUM), and Preston got fantastic gifts from everyone, toys as well as clothes.  Our neighbors and the ones that moved away stayed after everyone else left, so that was nice, too.  The boys were really good, although Preston didn’t let either me or his daddy out of his sight for more than a minute. There were a lot of people here, so I would guess it was a bit overwhelming to a little boy! :)  He did a great job demolishing his cake and himself (so much so he had to get a quick bath before presents!!).  Anyway, a good time was had by all, but honestly, I’m glad it’s over!

P. had his one year check-up today – 28 pounds!!! No wonder my back hurts after carrying him around for a while!! GEEZ.  I have such big baby boys! I love our nurse practitioner – she is totally awesome and has two kids about 6 months apart of each of mine, so we have that in common.  It’s like visiting a friend when we go there.  And until she gives them shots, the boys seem to adore her.  🙂

It’s time to start focusing on some things at work. I want to do a couple of promos in October and I need to get out a ‘long time no see’ letter to see if we can get some old patients back in the office.  I’d like to know whether they went elsewhere (WHY?) or if they just forgot it’s been so long, but until we get them back in the office, it’s hard to find out!  So, every year or two, we send out a letter telling them how fantastic we are and encouraging them to come back. It’s a lot of work, a fair amount of cash and probably not nearly as effective as I want it to be, but it’s something I feel like we need to do.  I also need to update the website for the office a bit – I haven’t in quite a while and it’s pretty boring as of late.

Oh, and of course, it probably goes without saying, but it’s time to get back on the eating better and exercising bandwagon again! 😛

Finally, some entries into the I can’t believe that I just said that files:

  • “Matt, please do not lick the screen!” (this after he used a squirt bottle to spray the screen door of the doorwall)
  • “Preston, really, we do not EAT the chalk, we DRAW with it!”
  • “You guys, get OUT OF THE FREEZER!” (sounded funnier to my neighbors who heard through the open windows, I bet!)

My eye doctor sends out those letters too! And most of the time I go \"WOW, it has been a long time, huh?!\" But now that I have contacts, my appointments arent so far apart! Glad Preston had such a great birthday. I cant believe he is 1. Seems like yesterday I was bugging you for his name! lol.. Now that the fun and excitement is over, get some you time, go to the gym or something! BTW.. Did you get Matt one of those kid digital cameras? Is it worth the money? Like, it will hold up over time, etc? Let me know, I am thinking about getting Alexis one for Christmas.
