Summer Rain

August 28, 2006 · 0 comments

Ah….it’s 60-something degrees out and raining. :)  The windows are open and a lovely breeze is flowing through the house. It’s so nice to have the air conditioning off!  I love a good, steady rain when it’s nice and cool.  Makes me want to put on sweatpants and grab a book and head for the nearest couch – curled up with a blanket, of course!

Today I had my massage. It was quite lovely and soooo relaxing, it’s astounding I was able to drive home! <sigh> I think I need to do that more often. It ranks right up there with pedicures to me.  🙂

I was able to get a decent amount of work done today. It’s odd, but when I get there at 9, the hours seem to go by a lot faster. I guess because I’m working my butt off trying to get something accomplished! My goal is to have my insurance receivables all caught up before the end of September and then get the three-year reminders out.  We’ll see!

Wanna know something really lame about me? I actually programmed the season premieres of some tv shows into my Palm. :D  Lame-O.  🙂   But I just realized I forgot How I Met Your Mother and Two & A Half Men….

Speaking of tv…how disappointing were the Emmys last night? BORING! None of my favorites won…NONE.  :(  I have to admit, Conan does a good job though. He is pretty funny.

[Man….could this breeze be any nicer??]

It seems that the boys are enjoying their new babysitter; she really seems to like them, too.  Of course, today was only the second day, but I’m feeling pretty good about her and them with her.

Preston, who is somehow going to be ONE on Friday, is toddling all over the place these days. He’s also beginning to attempt to come down the stairs. Not a moment too soon if you ask me. I love that he’s all over the place! And I want him to be able to do the stairs. No, I’m not wishing time away, I just know from experience that it’s a lot easier on all of us when the kids get themselves from point A to point B, especially with two kids.  Anyway, I can’t believe he’s going to be one already. I know they say that babyhood and childhood goes by fast, but seriously, didn’t I just have him a couple months ago???  Today I put a 2T shirt of his brother’s on him…it actually fit pretty well, but with the bigger clothes on he looked SO BIG! Oy.

And Matt…well, he’s amazing and trying every minute of the day. Amazing the way he speaks in full sentences and knows so much and has such an extraordinary imagination. Trying because he’s 3. He cries like the world is ending when he gets a time-out (2 tonight), but for whatever reason, it doesn’t stop him from doing stupid things, like throwing a cup at his brother’s head from less than a foot away. 😮   And now he’s trying to play us against each other…saying things like ‘I’ll just go ask Mommy <or Daddy>’.  Yipe.   And then he does silly and sweet stuff that we can’t help but grin about, even though it’s the middle of the night. Like last night when he needed turtles swept out of his bed.  Turtles??  Too much Dr. Seuss??

Anyway, this week is busy with prep for Preston’s big party, so I’ve got lists of lists of things to do and get. But what is not on my list is a thorough cleaning!!! <WOOT>
