Three years ago today

At this exact moment, I was lying in a hospital bed, wondering if my son was ever going to make his grand entrance into this world. We were under a tornado warning, I’d already been in labor about 16 hours, the Tigers were 31-95 (this year they are 79-45!), and my family and friends were beginning to wonder if I was ever going to have the kid! My labor started about 5:30am and at 11:44pm, Matthew Conner was born via C-section. It was amazing and terrifying and wonderful all at the same time. The pain was excrutiating and the love instant. My heart broke just looking at him and when he cried, I often wanted to as well (of course, that was mostly because I had NO CLUE as to what I was doing….LOL).

So today we spent the day celebrating Matthew. We had donuts for breakfast, went to the local Water Park for a few hours, played with new toys, opened more presents and had more cake. He’s actually still up. But, hey, it’s his birthday. 🙂

Yesterday was his party – it started out as cake and ice cream with the grandparents and turned into something a lot better, with lots of friends and family. A good time was had by all.  :D  We especially enjoyed having good friends stay after it ended. 😉
If you want to check out some current pics of the boys, including Matt’s birthday (but not the water park – we used <gasp!> film <gasp!> for those), you can see them here http://www.dorkdog.com/summer06/Dorkdog%20Extension/Summer%2006.html

Too cute… funny about film too, I have only used film once when she was about a month old. Digital is just too convenient. Especially with a kid on the go. I probably take 50 pics at a time and only get a dozen good ones. 3 years old already, time is moving way too fast. Happy bday Matt. We should get together sometime. I\'ve met some other Mom\'s over the internet and we met up at Great Lakes Crossing mall and Jessica had a blast at the playplace. She also loved Oakland Mall\'s playplace, but I know GLC is probably closer to your house??? P. looks so cute on the go. Jess still is too chicken to walk herself. But she loves to push her push toys, and walk along anything that she can grab onto. And of course we have to finger walk her everywhere. She gets up, stands for a long time, but only makes about one step and lunges forward to the next object to hold her up. Oh well… I\'m sure it will be soon.
