I think I am becoming an electronics black hole. Apparently, my hands is where good electronics go to die…or not work at all. Let’s see…
- My laptop for work use only is freaking out – the hard drive is making all sorts of noise and has died once before. Must get that sent in. Now, not only can I not get much work done at work, but I can’t get it done at home either.
- My other laptop (that had Coke spilled on it) is slowly getting worse – more buttons sticking and the battery has gone from a 3 hour life to just about 1, on a good day. Need to send that in too, I guess.
- I can’t use a simple adapter for my ipod for my car because my fancy Sirius radio doesn’t recognize it. I can buy a twice as expensive one, but now I’m wondering if it’s really worth it for as much time as I spend in the car. Of course, I can’t listen to audio books, but hey, how could I do that with 2 kids in the car anyway?
- I bought a cool new monitor with video for Peanut, but unless it’s …
Black Hole
Nothing
Ok, so it’s been awhile. Give me a break…I am absurdly busy. I was asked this morning what the kids and I were going to do today, and the word nothing came up. It’s funny. I think the last time I actually did absolutely nothing was before Peanut was born, while Shooey was probably sleeping or at school. Nothing. What a nice word.
Here are the ways in which I can no longer use this lovely word:
I’m going to do nothing all day today
There’s nothing to do around here
There’s nothing I need to get done while the boys are in bed
There’s nothing keeping me from doing whatever I want today (tonight, tomorrow, whenever)
There’s nothing I have to get done while chasing two kids around the house
And here’s how I get to use it these days:
To answer the question “What did you get done today?” Nothing
Yes, I moan and groan about there not being enough hours in the day, days in the weeks, etc. but I wouldn’t trade those two little creatures for anything. Well, I might barter them for a few hours in which I could do nothing….
Random Thoughts
- I want to be able to order a dozen tulips (or whatever) online for delivery to another state without it being a big, drawn-out process. Everything is so damn fancy…maybe the receiver doesn’t WANT another vase with a pretty ribbon tied around it.
- Two of my favorite people are pregnant at the same time! I am so very excited for both of them, I can’t stand it!!
- Did you know that it’s impossible to find a card to congratulate a woman for a second pregnancy? Um, yeah, they KNOW what having a baby entails now! Keep your cute little “now you’ll be surrounded by little diapers and blah blah blah”….looks like I just found myself a new side business.
- I don’t like eating better. Really. I need a magic pill or something. I was about to say I don’t mind exercising, but since it’s been 2 days since I have, I guess I must mind on some level! LOL. I want to magically be fit and trim and still be able to eat not quite horribly, but not quite perfectly.
- I *might* be able to get some scrapbooking done tomorrow. Just a …
