Let the season begin!

The trees are up! We went to a somewhat local tree farm this year and got a real tree. The weather was decently warm and sunny, but still a hint of snow, so it was perfect. After wandering in search of the perfect tree to cut down ourselves, we ended up walking the mile back to start and getting one of the pre-cuts. It was fun anyway, and we all needed the exercise and fresh air. I’m loving the fresh pine smell. Unfortunately, it’s going to be a constant battle with the boy running into the tree and removing ornaments with the needles and all, but it’s acceptable.

I’m not so much into decorating this year as years past. Guess I just feel too busy and such with two kids running around (wait, one running, the other wanting to be held). But, the front room tree is up, the family tree is up and while ornament-less, the kids tree is up.

The case of the missing ornaments… after a thorough basement cleaning and a pulling out of all of the Christmas boxes, the box containing the ornaments for the kid tree (old antique toy replicas) is MISSING. We have no idea where it went. So, the colorfully lit tree sits on the counter, no ornaments on its branches. Very strange.

I poked myself in the eye today – accidentally swung a cord and it popped me dead on. It’s been hurting ALL day. I guess I’m going to have to go in to the office tomorrow if it’s not better and make sure I don’t need to be treated. Duh. I couldn’t open it for like 20 minutes.

My son is doing this strange whining/growling sound. It’s annoying the crap out of me. Sometimes I can get him to stop by teasing him, but more often than not, he just keeps doing it. Bah.

I can’t figure out what I want for Christmas this year, let alone my birthday. Odd. Usually I can come up with some things, but this year I’m having some issues.

I’m feeling like I need to give more to charity. As I’m a little out of luck on extra time right now, I feel for throwing some money at some good causes. Problem is, I have limited funds and can’t figure out who to give to (besides the Salvation Army, who gets all of my gently used clothing). Any ideas?

Well, the kitchen is clean and the house mostly picked up, so I’m going to head to bed. If I stay up any longer I’m going to watch Grey’s Anatomy and then I’ll suffer in the morning for it.

G’nite!
