It’s a Boy!

We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday and the technician (and the wise one) claim the next baby is a boy without a doubt. I've been saying that from the beginning, but since I have been SO sick this time, I heard about 20 times that we must be having a girl this time. Obviously, there is a little part of me that is disappointed – NOT that we're having a boy, but that it's not a girl. That may not make sense to you, especially if you don't have kids, but trust me on this one. Of course I wanted a little girl to dress up and put in pink and be all girly and sweet, but hey, another boy works out just dandy! Very few new things to buy, able to reuse clothes and toys and the like, already got the whole boy thing down….all is well.

Anyway, there are pictures on my website, if anyone is so inclined to check them out. For a direct link, just pm me and I'll let ya know right where to go. (hehe). I still have some issues with seeing things in the ultrasounds. My visualization skills leave a bit to be desired. Luckily, fate matched me up with the wise and wonderful one who has impeccable visualization skills and can see every little thing on those photos.

*random typo-induced thought* Why do the plural versions of tomato and potato have -oes at the end, but photo does not?

I'm getting back into doing my Yoga and I'm pretty pleased with myself. Stretching out seems to really be helping my back and belly pain as of late. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up for the remainder of my pregnancy and continue after. One day I'm going to hop on that elliptical that I needed so bad…

So, now that we had the ultrasound, this pregnancy seems amazingly real. I mean, it was real before, but now, seeing peanut again, it's incredibly clear that another baby is coming, and soon! The tasks at hand are mounting. I, of course, being me, feel that it is imperative that we begin the nursery ASAP; 'Nom feels like we have just as much time today as we did 2 days ago. True, but now time is going to fly and the list of things we have to do around this house seems to grow exponentially, especially considering the bathroom leak and the spring weather. I'm feeling a little lost on the nursery design, as we want to do something that will last longer than a year this time. I'm not sure if it's the idea (sports? baseball? vintage sports/baseball? ) or the concept of making the nursery for baby #2 better than baby #1s that is giving me issues. Silly, eh?

Lots going on around me and mine these days though. Neighbor had her baby last night (finally!) after what amounted to a ridiculous length of time being "induced". One cousin moving to a new condo today; the other moving back to NH by September and yet another getting married in 2 weeks. One more cousin preparing for fatherhood in the next month or so, and his brother keeping fingers crossed that budget cuts don't remove him from his dream job. My brother made a life change of his own recently and will be going to Law school. A 30th birthday and 40th birthday for a couple of friends of ours in the next month and a trip (unfortunately, not mine) to Australia. Very busy times for the good people around me. [Not sure what the point of that whole paragraph was…]

Well, it's getting late and it's about time for my evening snack…

Enjoy your {insert applicable time of day here}
